Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Reportedly Shooting Scenes in Norway

It looks like the Sorcerer Supreme will be leaving New York yet again. A new report has revealed that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be filming some key scenes in Norway.

The report comes from HN Entertainment, which claims that the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel is expected to shoot in Norway. In addition to that, the film is also set to be shot in Surrey, England.

Interestingly, plans for the movie are already in place although Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed its director. It was previously reported that Sam Raimi is in negotiations to helm the upcoming MCU flick. However, the studio and Raimi himself have not yet made an official announcement.

Doctor Strange 2 was originally going to be directed by Scott Derrickson, who worked on the first film. However, Derrickson has since stepped down from the project citing creative differences. Nevertheless, Derrickson appears to like the idea that Raimi will take over in working on the sequel. Hopefully, we'll get an official announcement on who will eventually direct The Multiverse of Madness.

The highly anticipated MCU sequel will bring back Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, who is set to work with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. In addition to that, Benedict Wong is expected to reprise his role as Wong alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, who will return as Karl Mordo.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is set to begin production sometime in May. It is then scheduled for release on May 7, 2021.
