Doctor Strange Director Says Russos’ Avengers: Endgame’s Pitch Was ‘Fucking Incredible’

It looks like Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has a lot of praise for Joe and Anthony Russo's upcoming Marvel entry, Avengers: Endgame.

Taking to Twitter, the filmmaker recounted a story where he ran into Joe Russo outside the men's room while editing footage of Doctor Strange for Marvel. According to Derrickson, Russo then pitched him the basic story he had for both Infinity War and Endgame – something the director ultimately describes as "fucking incredible."

"While editing Doctor Strange at Marvel, I ran into Joe Russo outside the men's room. He pitched me the basic story for both Infinity War and Endgame. I told him that if he could make the first movie work, the second movie would be fucking incredible.#TrueStory," the director wrote on his post.

Excitement over Endgame might already be over the roof, but this anecdote certainly adds to the hype for the second installment in the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie. Not only does it tell fans that they won't be let down by the film, but it also insinuates that the Russos planned their story for Infinity War and for Endgame years back (Doctor Strange's post-production happened sometime around 2016).

As eager as they are, some fans decided to ask Derrickson on his post whether Joe Russo happened to mention Cap's death in Endgame and the director decided to play along by putting in a strange code. It sounds like a joke, but we're pretty sure that some fans are going to take Derrickson's little game seriously and attempt to decode the message.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
