[SPOILER WARNING]

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Doctor Strange entangled with MCU newcomer America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), who has a distinct ability to travel across different universes. Later on, it was revealed that it was Wanda all along who was hunting down Chavez, and Strange and Wong has to protect Chavez from the Scarlet Witch's ruthlessness.

When Doctor Strange and Wong kept Chavez in Kamar-Taj, Scarlet Witch was still able to get to Chavez while going on a literal killing spree. Luckily, Chavez accidentally transported herself and Doctor Strange to another universe.

This universe has an original Doctor Strange and the Sinister Strange in this universe sacrificed himself instead of anyone to defeat Thanos. Unfortunately, defeating the Mad Titan comes with a price, as Sinister Strange utilized the Darkhold, and used dark magic to defeat the well-known villain.

The Darkhold manipulated Sinister Strange just like what's happening to Wanda. When Doctor Strange encountered Sinister Strange, it was revealed that Sinister Strange got completely corrupted by the evil book, and was lost in reality, desperately wanting to be together with Christine Palmer. Aside from that, this Sinister Strange has an eerie third eye.

Now, the conclusion of the film reveals the original Doctor Strange walking in New York, when suddenly a third eye grew on his forehead just like Sinister Strange. In a post-credits scene, when Clea came to Strange, Strange was also spotted to easily spawn the third eye.

Now, what does this third eye really mean to Doctor Strange? Is this another ability?

The reason why Doctor Strange grew a third eye is that he was forced to use the Darkhold, and we all know that this evil book can manipulate anyone no matter how strong they are. Aside from that, Doctor Strange from Marvel Comics has occasionally spawned the third eye.

Additionally, this third eye might give Doctor Strange some new sets of abilities, and can make him even stronger. In Marvel Comics, Strange’s third eye casts a mystical light that allows Strange to see through any kinds of illusions, see past events, track ethereal and corporeal beings by their psychic or magical emissions, and weakens various evil mystical beings.

Now that Strange has awakened his third eye in live-action, it looks like it will be showcased in Doctor Strange 3, especially after a post-credits scene shows him being fetched by Charlize Theron's Clea, traveling back to the Dark Dimension.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now showing in theaters worldwide.
