Doctor Strange 2 New Teaser Introduces Mordo as Part of The Illuminati

For the ten-day countdown of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a new teaser titled “Time” has been dropped and it finally closes the deal with the inclusion of The Illuminati on the film and more than that, it also introduced Baron Mordo to be part of the council that would give Stephen Strange a judgment for his actions.

The teaser starts with Wong telling Strange “it’s time,” hence, the title of the clip, and the 10-day countdown starts warning everyone that nothing can prepare anyone for the truth that will be unveiled in the film. Strange proceeds with the caveat that everything one learned over the years would lead them to the moment they would be in.

The scene changes to when Doctor Strange was apprehended and Mordo announces, “Stephen Strange, the Illuminati will see you now.” The phrase reminds us of 50 Shades of Gray but we’ll let it pass, after all, Strange’s to be given judgment on to his actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it is nothing romantic like how Christian Gray said it. Strange’s face shows how shocked he was to be welcomed by Mordo like that.

After months of rumors, the teaser confirms that the Illuminati will be debuting in the film. In the comics, Marvel’s Illuminati is a secret group created by Tony Stark that convenes to help the people with powers and decide what to do with them. It consisted of heroes from various teams such as Black Bolt, Namor, Professor X, Reed Richards, and Tony Stark.

Once in the comics, Doctor Strange even sat with these heroes when they sent Hulk away from Earth. In the film, with Mordo making the announcement and considering that Doctor Strange is the one facing the Illuminati, it is possible that it is Mordo sitting in his position, and that could easily answer where Mordo had been all the years he was missing in action.
