For a few weeks now, we keep on hearing about several cameo appearances that might be showing up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness thanks to reports regarding its recent reshoots and the storyline which suggests the main character going across the Marvel multiverse. While most of them are just rumors and speculations at this point, a new piece of evidence is currently circulating online about the potential return of a character who we just saw on Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Mariana Torres, the Portuguese voice actress for Wanda Maximoff, recently posted on social media a photo of her together with Manolo Rey, the Portuguese voice actor for Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, along with a caption (translated) "Good things are coming!!!" Unless Rey is going to voice another character, it does indicate that they are working together to dub a Marvel movie that has the appearance of both Wanda Maximoff and Maguire's Spider-Man. Rey is also wearing a Spider-Man shirt which is a huge sign that he is voicing the character again. However, Marvel hasn't made any confirmation yet if Maguire's Spider-Man does appear in the film.
Given the multiverse aspect and the rumored cameo appearances plus the film being under the helm of Sam Raimi (who also directed the original Spider-Man trilogy), it is very possible that Maguire's Spider-Man will be appearing in the upcoming sequel for a potential cameo appearance (or maybe part of the multiversal climactic battle if it happens in the film) and, as Spider-Man: No Way Home already established, his universe is part of the Marvel multiverse.
If Maguire does return as Spider-Man in the upcoming film, it will be exciting for fans who have been wanting to see him play the role again after his triumphant return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While it may not be a solo film, at least we get to see him again and be part of the multiversal adventure. We will find out in just a few months if this rumor is true or not.
