DC’s Titans LGBTQ+ Romance Explained: Robin and Bernard
In Titans Season 4, the Titans head over to S.T.A.R. Labs for Superboy to meet his father, Superman. They’re greeted by a scientist named Bernard, who then gives them new equipment and performs some tests on their powers.
Tim Drake develops a crush on Bernard and the two finally kiss after a serpent attacks S.T.A.R. Labs. However, after Tim doesn’t return any of Bernard’s texts, the latter suggests that they should just be “colleagues” or “friends” and focus on the mission.
In the mid-season premiere, Tim and Bernard lose contact with the team and decide to spend the night in a motel, with separate but adjacent rooms. However, Tim opens the door to Bernard’s room and says he doesn’t want to be just friends.
Bernard agrees and they spend the night together. The two start a relationship, but Bernard ends up in a coma after playing Sebastian Sanger’s game “Abraxus”.
In the series finale, Bernard recovers from his coma and informs the Titans that Brother Blood is currently in S.T.A.R. Labs. The Titans head over to S.T.A.R. Labs., and Tim and Bernard embrace each other.

Yes, Tim and Bernard end up together in DC’s Titans. While Tim decides to keep fighting crime in Gotham as Robin, he decides to stay in Metropolis too. Tim tells the Titans that he’s going to be in both cities – Gotham and Metropolis.
“Robin is a responsibility and tied to Gotham. But I got a life in Metropolis too,” Tim shares. We then see footage of Tim and Bernard spending time together in Metropolis.
So, while it’s sad to see the Titans go their separate ways (except for Dick and Kory, who also end up together), at least we know that Tim is happy with Bernard.
