Apple TV+ has just released its new romantic comedy action film, Ghosted, which stars Chris Evans as Cole Turner and Ana de Armas as Sadie Rhodes. The two have previously starred in Knives Out and The Gray Man. In Ghosted, we see both of them in a different light, with them playing a couple (sort of).

Ghosted is about a boy who falls in love with a girl after one date and finds himself ghosted after. Later, he discovers that the girl he dated was actually a secret agent, and he ends up being a part of her mess.

So, after all the adventures and obstacles they’ve been through, do Cole and Sadie end up together? The answer is yes, Cole and Sadie pursue a romantic relationship at the end of the movie.

Warning: More spoilers ahead for Ghosted. Read at your own risk!

Cole and Sadie meet at the farmer’s market when Sadie decides to buy a houseplant. They get off the wrong foot because Cole didn’t want to sell her the plant for fear that she wouldn’t take care of it as she mentions that she’s not around all the time.

Sadie leaves, but then Cole decides to go after her to get to know her more after his friend suggested that there was sexual tension between the two. Sadie agrees to go out with him, and they spend a whole day together.

Things went well on their first date, and Cole instantly falls in love with Sadie. When he gets home, he tells his family that “she might be the one”.

However, all his texts go unanswered, and his family suggests that he has been ghosted. Determined to find answers and do a romantic gesture, Cole decides to go after Sadie in London and surprise her.

But things did not turn out the way he planned as Cole discovers that Sadie is a secret agent working for the CIA. In his attempts to pursue her, Cole ends up being the one surprised, and he finds himself caught up in an international espionage ring.

Sadie and Cole had a great time together on their first date. This was why Cole wondered why he never heard from her again. However, there were reasons why Sadie ghosted Cole, apart from the fact that she’s a secret agent working for the CIA.

It turns out, Sadie did actually plan to call him after she gets back from London. But the many messages sent by Cole kind of turned her off.

She also revealed that she checked Cole out and discovered that he lied about some things, like him traveling a lot. Furthermore, she thought that Cole was this cool guy who had a cactus behavior, but then he turned out to be someone too clingy and needy. Cole’s clinginess (or creepiness) was further proved when he took a picture of Sadie while she was sleeping.

And according to Sadie, the emojis count.

During their adventures (or missions), Cole realizes that Sadie is not much of the good person he thought she was. He discovers that she’s an emotionally unattached person, which frustrates him.

She killed her former colleague and roommate and doesn’t care about her previous boyfriends. She didn’t even seem bothered when her former lover Marco died, despite Cole giving his condolences.

And all this is because she always prioritizes the mission first. She even admits that she didn’t come to rescue Cole, but because she was sent to get the Aztec. Later on, in a lie detector test, she even admits to thinking that rescuing Cole was a mistake.

Eventually, however, he finds out that her state of emotional unavailability has something to do with her fear of losing people after she lost her mother at a young age. Since then, Sadie made a decision not to be afraid, but it kind of hardened her heart.

While Cole and Sadie had been through so many obstacles and piled up lies, in the end, they decide to give their relationship a chance.

Cole introduces Sadie to his family and they have a meal together. Cole also starts researching for his book while Sadie continues being an agent, but she now has both a professional and personal life. This is seen when she leaves a target captive in the back of her car while going out on a date with her boyfriend Cole.

So, eventually, Cole and Sadie ended up together. But Cole is gonna have to control his neediness because Sadie’s job keeps her away most of the time. This is something we might see if a second film will happen.

Currently, there’s no confirmation if the movie will have a sequel. But if a second film takes place, it would probably focus on Sadie and Cole’s new chapter. It could also reveal more of Sadie’s past, something we didn’t really see in the film. Guess we’re gonna have to wait and see if a sequel will come.
