Disneyland Releases New Photo Of Nearly-Completed Millennium Falcon

Star Wars fans are in for a treat because it looks like the Mickey Mouse House is getting ready for lightspeed with its new Millennium Falcon nearing completion at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California.

Taking to its official page on Facebook, Disneyland just recently shared its first official photo of the life-size Millennium Falcon it has sitting in its Anaheim theme park for its upcoming "Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run" attraction. A 1:1 scale of the iconic YT-1300 Corellian light freighter, the "Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's run" is supposed to be one of the very first attractions to be made available for Disney's upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in the Disneyland theme park.

According to the official statement that Disneyland released on its page, guests will get to "take the controls of the fastest ship of the galaxy in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run." A motion-simulated ride, Disneyland's new Millennium Falcon allows guests to fly the iconic ship "in one of three unique flight crew roles," with their skill levels updating as the ride goes along. The ride is to be hosted by The Clone War's Hondo Ohnaka.

The thought of flying the Millennium Falcon is nothing but exciting for Star Wars fans – imagine taking the freighter out to lightspeed. We can't wait to try out the ride for ourselves once the ride opens next year.

The ride is scheduled to open its gates to Star Wars fans and guests in the summer of 2019 while a similar attraction is set for Walt Disney World later in the year.
