Disneyland Gives Us Our First Look at Web-Swinging Animatronic Spider-Man

Back in 2018, a video had been going around that Disney was making robots that could perform stunts. A lot of people thought this would be for movies, but as it turns out, it was probably for a Disneyland attraction. Just in, Disneyland Resort has given us a teaser of their Spider-Man attraction.

Here's the official description:

Guests visiting Disney California Adventure park in the near future may be able to catch a glimpse of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man himself swinging above the rooftops of Avengers Campus.

Just in case you're curious, here's the animatronic in action without the Spider-suit:

It's very interesting that Disney would find a way to use the robots this way, seeing that Spider-Man has usually been brought to life with CGI. I guess they would have someone in a suit come out and talk to park visitors, but I'm sure people would be amazed watching Spider-Man swing around for real.

Now I'm just kind of curious about Sony's part in this. We know that the relationship with Spider-Man has always been a bit rocky, but with Disney officially adding him to a park, it looks like their deal has expanded to more than just the film. Either way, it makes me feel happy that Spider-Man is in the park, it's kind of a sign that he's staying in the MCU for a good long while.

The Spider-Man attraction is set to come to the Disney California Adventure park this summer.
