It looks like Disney+ subscribers won't have to worry about movies and shows dropping out of the upcoming streaming site because the Mickey Mouse House doesn't plan to rotate content the same way that Netflix and Hulu does.
A Disney spokesperson just recently spoke in an interview with ComicBook.com to talk about the features of the company's highly anticipated streaming platform, and it looks like one of the new features includes a permanent library of content.
"There will not be a 'rotating slate' of licensed movies each month," the spokesperson told the entertainment news outlet.
This is a new feature that will help attract subscribers to Disney+. Other streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu have all rotated its content periodically to make room for other movies and series on the site. This means that there are times that high-demand content becomes unavailable to subscribers.
However, unlike the competition which houses all sort of content, Disney will only be comprised of its own material. This means that Disney will have room to support content permanently on Disney+.
Disney however, won't be able to offer all of its movies during the launch of its upcoming streaming site. This includes Star Wars films like The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Rian Johnson's divisive Star Wars entry is going to remain on Netflix until December 2019. Solo doesn't leave the site until 2020.
Of course, Star Wars fans can busy themselves with all the other films in the franchise. There's also the highly anticipated Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.
Disney+ is set to launch on November 12, 2019.
