Disney Showcases Brief Star Wars: Episode IX Footage At CinemaCon 2019

Lucasfilm might have been deathly quiet about Star Wars: Episode IX the past few months, however, fans are expecting things to change once Star Wars Celebration arrives next week. The studio is holding a special panel for its third and final sequel trilogy entry at the Star Wars convention and everyone is expecting Lucasfilm to unveil Episode IX's first teaser trailer and title during the event.

Though Star Wars Celebration doesn't seem too far away, Star Wars fans are going to be hyped to know that Disney actually showed off some brief footage of Episode IX during the 2019 CinemaCon today.

The Mickey Mouse House celebrated its acquisition of 21st Century Fox during a panel this year's CinemaCon, and according to Birth Movies Death news editor Scott Wampler, the studio presented a video presentation covering Disney and Fox's shared histories which included brief footage of Episode IX.

According to Wampler, he and other media people present during the panel saw about two seconds of Episode IX. In it was a scene of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Poe (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) and Chewie all together in the Millennium falcon.

While the footage might not seem much, this should definitely get fans pumped for Star Wars: Episode IX's panel at this year's Star Wars Celebration. The scene also seemingly hints at a mission involving the three main Resistance characters – something which has long since been rumored online. We can't wait to see what that mission involves and what else Episode IX has to offer us.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
