It's no secret that a lot of fans have had a love-and-hate relationship with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy through the years. To many, Kennedy is the one responsible for nearly destroying the Star Wars franchise with the sequel trilogy becoming a colossal failure. While it's safe to say that the franchise has already recovered from the damage the sequels have caused, thanks to Lucasfilm's Disney+ expansion, the current state of Star Wars films is quite pitiful.
As it stands, Star Wars' next big-screen offering reportedly won't hit cinemas until 2025, despite the fact that there are several confirmed projects that are currently in development. Now, it seems like Disney is growing increasingly unhappy with Kennedy's stewardship and according to a new report, this is why the divisive executive has been prohibited from unveiling future projects.
As per Puck News, Disney has blocked the Lucasfilm boss from handling announcements related to future Star Wars projects. The outlet claims that Kennedy "was advised by Disney to stop announcing projects and creative partners."
It reportedly all comes down to "media management", with Disney trying to prevent fans and critics from finding fault with the production company following the cancelation of a number of projects over the last couple of years.

This is most likely the reason why Lucasfilm didn't announce its Star Wars film slate during D23 Expo 2022. And considering the hype and fan enthusiasm for several projects, including Rogue Squadron and Rian Johnson's new trilogy eventually fizzled out due to several undisclosed issues, Disney's course of action is quite understandable.
