Disney Reportedly Denies Hawkeye Series Production Delay

There is little doubt that the Hawkeye series is one of the most highly anticipated shows that are set to air on Disney+ especially since Jeremy Renner is still expected to return as Cliff Barton. But has the House of Mouse delayed production on the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series? Disney has reportedly shut down rumors that Hawkeye will not begin filming this year.

A previous report had stated that Disney has chosen to remove Hawkeye from the list of shows that will begin production in 2020. Not surprisingly, the report had fans worried that Clint's series will either get pushed back or could be cancelled after Renner's legal troubles with his ex-wife. However, a new source claims otherwise.

The report from Verge writer Julia Alexander, who reportedly got her intel from Disney itself (via Comicbook.com)

"Disney contacts have vehemently denied it, calling it completely inaccurate," Alexander wrote.

So what exactly is happening with Hawkeye? Although the show was expected to begin production in April, it has been pushed back to make way for Ms. Marvel instead. Unfortunately, this could mean that Renner's series will start filming at around the same time as Moon Knight and She-Hulk. Nevertheless, it looks like we can still expect to see Clint's show in the future.

There have been speculations that Hawkeye has been delayed to allow Renner some time to deal with his legal troubles as his ex-wife. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
