When Disney began releasing original content from both Marvel and Star Wars exclusively on their streaming service, they seemingly made it clear right off the bat that Fridays will be the official premiere schedule for the said projects.

The decision to have Loki drop its episodes every Wednesday came as a huge surprise to a lot of viewers. Initially thought to be a one-off deal, the God of Mischief's arrival may have created a massive shakeup in the streaming platform's release schedule and it looks like it will take full effect in the coming months.

According to a new scoop from The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ is making drastic changes to its already established release schedule and it officially began with Loki. As it turns out, the streamer will stick with its current Wednesday schedule for upcoming Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm shows, including projects like What If...? and The Book of Boba Fett. Original movies will continue to premiere every Friday.

THR reports: "Sources say the shift is designed to accommodate the increased volume of original content on Disney+. The Wednesday schedule is strictly for original series - meaning The Mandalorian and other Star Wars and Marvel TV series; original movies will continue to bow on Fridays on the streamer."

The reason behind the scheduling shuffle wasn't disclosed but I gotta say, I was already a fan of their Friday release schedule and honestly, I'm finding it hard to adjust to the new release scheme. A lot of fans have already gotten used to watching Disney+ exclusive series on Fridays but let's see if this changed ends up being beneficial on Disney's end.

Speaking of Disney+, new episodes of Loki premiere every Wednesday.
