Disney Considering A Pirates Of The Caribbean Reboot With Deadpool Writers For Its Script

It looks like Disney might actually be thinking of rebooting their popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise together with the help of Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Deadline writes in a new report that instead of making a direct Pirates of the Caribbean 6, Disney is currently considering a complete overhaul of its Johnny Depp pirate movies. Right now, Reese and Wernick are in early talks to write the script for the Mickey Mouse House's Pirates of the Caribbean studio.

Though it remains to be seen whether the writing duo will take in the job, Disney has already met with both Reese and Wernick for early negotiations. Other than being the writers behind the first two Deadpool movies, Reese and Wernick wrote films like Zombieland, its upcoming sequel, and then, 6 Underground, that Michael Bay Netflix action flick.

With so much experience with blockbusters, it isn't surprising to see Disney knocking on Reese and Wernick's door to ask the duo to take on the Pirates of the Caribbean reboot.

The franchise might have started out strong with its first four films, but Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales received mixed reviews from fans and critics. Many couldn't help but notice the waning energy and enthusiasm from Depp as well as the poor narrative structure of both films.

Hopefully, with Reese and Wernick as the scriptwriters of the new movie, Pirates of the Caribbean gets a reboot that reinvigorates the franchise.
