Disney Closes Disneyland CA Because Of Coronavirus Outbreak

It looks like Disney has finally decided to shut down Disneyland in Anaheim California.

According to a report by CNN Business, Disney has just announced its decision to shut down Disneyland and California Adventure for the time being because of the fast-spreading COVID-19. The theme parks are going to close this Saturday, though the hotels at California's Disneyland Resort are going to remain open until Monday, March 16 so that guests will be given the "ability to make necessary travel arrangements."

"While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at Disneyland Resort, after carefully reviewing the guidelines of the Governor of California's executive order and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, beginning the morning of March 14 through the end of the month," a spokesperson for Disneyland Resort said in a statement.

Disneyland is scheduled to reopen on April 1, though the date could change depending on the status of the coronavirus pandemic. This is the fourth time in history that Disneyland in California has had to shut down.

The Disney theme park in California isn't the only Disneyland to be affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Last month, Disney announced the closure of Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Park, and Tokyo Disney.

The novel coronavirus has certainly taken a toll, not only in the medical profession but in the entertainment industry as well. Major events like the SWSX and Wonder Con have been canceled due to Coronavirus, and movies like No Time to Die and A Quiet Place Chapter II have been postponed.
