Disney CEO Bob Iger is Planning a 'Get-Together' with Martin Scorsese

Critically-acclaimed director Martin Scorsese caused quite a ruckus when he revealed what little he thought of Marvel movies.

According to the filmmaker, he didn't really think that Marvel Movies were cinema, comparing the films to amusement parks instead. The Irishman director's comments sparked outrage and debate. Not only did fans come to Marvel's defense, but so did the cast and crew of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney CEO Bob Iger also touched upon the subject, saying that he wasn't that sure whether Scorsese had seen any of the offerings of the MCU.

Now, according to a new report, Iger is going to say those things to Scorsese himself. Speaking in an interview with TIME after being chosen as the publication's Businessperson of the Year, the Disney executive revealed some weighty rebuttals against Scorsese's original comments. According to Iger, what Scorsese said about Marvel was "nasty" and "not fair to the people who are making the movies."

"If Marty Scorsese wants to be in the business of taking artistic risk, all power to him. It doesn't mean that what we're doing isn't art," Iger argued.

Further on in the discussion with TIME, Iger revealed that "his people" and is currently "arranging a get-together" with the opinionated filmmaker.

We're not sure why Iger would want to personally meet Scorsese at this point in time. Does the Disney CEO want to berate the filmmaker for his comments about the MCU up close? Does he want to host a discussion with the director? Maybe he's going to try and offer Scorsese a movie?

Let's wait and see.
