Did Tom Welling Confirm a Superman Return in Crisis on Infinite Earths?

The CW is planning to make an ambitious crossover event with their Crisis on Infinite Earths, and a lot of people have been confirmed to make returns as heroes they played before. Arrow star Stephen Amell has said before that he wants Tom Welling to reprise his Smallville role as Clark Kent, and it seems that Welling may have confirmed a return on his Instagram.

If you look at the comment section, a fan asks Welling if he's going to be in Crisis on Infinite Earths, to which he replies with, "duh!!!" as if it were obvious.

So far, there hasn't been any official confirmation if Welling is going to return as his Superman, but if the event managed to have Brandon Routh reprise his Clark Kent and Kevin Conroy play a live-action Bruce Wayne for the first time, I bet The CW would jump on a chance to bring back one of their most defining versions of Superman.

When it comes to the show, some fans still feel bummed out that hey never got a chance to get a good look at Welling in the Superman suit. With Infinite Earths, we could finally see how Welling looks in his full Man of Steel garb. With all the other big guests appearing, I just think it would be a wasted opportunity if Welling wasn't brought back onboard.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will start with Supergirl on Dec. 8, and continue with Batwoman (Dec. 9) and The Flash (Dec. 10). The whole event ends on Jan. 14 with Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
