Detective Pikachu: Ryan Reynolds Announces New Trailer for Tomorrow with Hilarious Video

This 2019 is going to be a big year for Pokemon given that it will see the release of the first live-action film in the franchise. Ryan Reynolds, who is the lead voice for Detective Pikachu confirms that a new trailer is dropping tomorrow, and he does it in his own spectacularly hilarious fashion.

Check it out:

The gist of the video is basically Reynolds saying that he went full method acting while working on the Pikachu character, and he ended up elaborating on what kind of silly antics he went through just to get a better grasp of playing a small Pokemon detective. There's even a small appearance form Reynolds' wife Blake Lively who talks about the ‘hardships' her family faced while Reynolds pursued the role.

Just looking at his work on Deadpool, fans know that Reynolds is very hilarious both off and on camera, and I'm excited to see what kind of humor he's going to bring into Detective Pikachu. I'll admit, it's kind of weird looking at a talking Pikachu, but if the kids love it, I'm sure this film would have done its job.

A young man joins forces with Detective Pikachu to unravel the mystery behind his father's disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe.

Detective Pikachu hits theaters May 10.
