Demon Slayer is getting another video game, but it won’t be your typical arena-fighting title. Instead, the upcoming game Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board! is a party game that’s coming in April 2024.
This upcoming Nintendo Switch game promises to deliver a lighthearted and fun time for Demon Slayer fans.
Based on its trailer and screenshots, this upcoming title is akin to Mario Party but with Kimetsu no Yaiba characters.
Next Kimetsu no Yaiba Game Is a Casual Party Game
Demon Slayer continues to be one of the most popular shonen anime right now. Since the first season aired in 2019, the series has become a global phenomenon.
The anime’s third season aired in Spring 2023, and following that, an anime sequel was announced which will cover the Hashira Training arc.
There’s no word yet on when this new anime will be released, nor is there info on whether this will be a full season or just an OVA.
To make the wait a bit more bearable though, Aniplex revealed Demon Slayer – Sweep the Board! in December.
This game lets players play as one of a selection of characters like Tanjiro and Nezuko, with the gameplay being boardgame-style where players can move after rolling the dice.
Much like Mario Party, the goal here is to collect coins. Players can also participate in a wide array of mini-games inspired by the series’ story.
What’s more, the game features several boards to choose from. Each board is inspired by iconic locations in the series.

Demon Slayer – Sweep the Board! Reveals April 2024 Release Date
Recently, Aniplex revealed more information about the game, including its April 2024 release date as well as new boards and mini-games.
One of the new boards revealed features the Tsuzumi Mansion and Mount Natagumo. Meanwhile, the other board is inspired by the Mugen Train from the hit anime film.
Also shared were four mini-games which are:
- Sneaky Sword Styling
- Tanjiro’s Total Concentration Training
- Team Memory Matching
- Knock 'Em Out! Chanbara Swordplay
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board! will be released on April 26, 2024, in the West for the Nintendo Switch. The game is also available for pre-order now.
Currently, there are no plans to release this game on other platforms. Given the Mario Party style of the game, it does make sense why it’s going to be released only on the Switch for now.
