How Did Mitsuri Get Her Hair Color?
When Mitsuri was first introduced, fans were amazed by her hair color but did not mind it that much, as anime characters tend to have unique hair colors.
Some have yellow, red, etc. However, viewers were surprised to know that her family all had the same hair color: black. So where did Mitsuri get hers?
In Demon Slayer Season 3, during one post-credit scene, it was revealed that Mitsuri’s hair and eye color changed after she ate 170 Sakura mochi or Sakura rice cakes every day for eight months.
While the shounen anime's fans loved her hair color, the men from her era did not.
In fact, it was her hair color and huge appetite that made it hard for Mitsuri to get married.
It even came to a point where she decided to dye her hair black to make herself seem more normal.

How Mitsuri’s Favorite Sakura Mochi Changed Her Appearance
As a carefree and positive character, Mitsuri likes a lot of things. One of these is the Sakura mochi.
It is pink and covered with a leaf, hence the pink and green colors of Mitsuri’s hair. It is also the reason behind her green eyes.
Sakura mochi is made of sticky rice cake and anko or sweet bean paste. A salt leaf of cherry blossom is used to cover the mochi.
The leaf is edible, but it depends on the person if they want to eat it or not.
This sweet dessert is only available during the spring season in Japan. It is available in confectionery stores and costs around $2.
Since Mitsuri ate 170 mochis each month for eight months, that means she consumed a total of 1,360 mochis.
It is quite expensive, but Mitsuri’s happiness is more important to her family. Unsurprisingly, she can eat that much with her huge appetite.
Mitsuri is one of the strongest Hashira as she has a special muscular composition and immense strength, which is also probably because of the amount of food she eats.
Mitsuri’s physique, personality, and abilities make her one of the most memorable characters in Demon Slayer.
