Ever since the first season, Demon Slayer has impressed fans with its incredible animation. But now, the anime has outdone itself as fans are amazed by Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc’s mind-blowing Infinity Castle animation.

While we’ve seen glimpses of the Infinity Castle before, a large part of the new season’s first episode is set there.

Aside from introducing the Upper Rank Demons, the sequence also features a dizzying array of impeccably animated scenes that show off the huge scale of Muzan’s base.

Even before Demon Slayer, anime studio ufotable is known for its incredible 3D animation work on shows such as Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. For Demon Slayer, the studio seems to have improved even more.

While 3D animation gets a bad rap from fans, there’s practically no one criticizing the 3D animation of the Infinity Castle scene.

Many fans were blown away by the scale and level of detail shown during the scene, with many calling it movie-level in terms of quality.

What’s interesting is that fans have been praising the animation despite it having not much action.

After all, while Demon Slayer has lots of highlight scenes, most of these are from fights where ufotable can show off their expertise.

Now, it seems that even dialogue-heavy scenes are given incredible levels of production quality. Thus, fans are even more excited to see the rest of the episodes in the season.

Animation aside, the Infinity Castle sequence was also a noteworthy one given that it finally shows us the rest of the Upper Rank demons.

One that made a particularly big splash is the Upper Rank One Demon, Kokushibo.

While manga fans already know of him, anime-only viewers have begun sharing their theories, including how Kokushibo is believed to be Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

Another funny theory from fans is that Yoriichi is the father of Tanjiro given how they both wear Hanafuda earrings and their hair looks the same. Though the episode quickly debunks this theory.

Given the events of the arc, it’ll no doubt be interesting for manga readers to see what theories anime-only fans will come up with as the anime progresses.

The next episode of Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc should give fans even more impressive animation when it releases next week.
