After hyping up its reveal last week, the first Delicious in Dungeon trailer has finally been released with English subtitles, and it reveals the show’s cast and release date.
Aside from its interesting fantasy premise, the show is bound to have a lot of fans get excited about it as this is the next anime series from Trigger, one of the most popular anime studios thanks to its distinct style.
From the looks of it, this show is shaping up to be a fun watch, though fans will need to wait over half a year before it airs.
Studio Trigger’s Next Anime Finally Has Its First Trailer
Trigger is arguably one of today’s most popular studios. Or at least, Trigger has one of the most passionate fanbases.
After all, the studio has a distinct style and an impressive body of work that features hits like Kill la Kill, SSSS.Gridman, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Its latest work is Delicious in Dungeon, a fantasy anime that follows a party of four adventurers.
While it seems typical, its premise is far from it, as you can see in the new trailer here:
Instead of spelunking dungeons for treasure, the goal of the party is to be self-sufficient. And they aim to do this by eating the various monsters found throughout the dungeons.
While the dungeon-crawling party is far from a new concept in anime, the fact that their focus is cooking and eating monsters makes it a refreshing fantasy series. Not to mention that its comedic slant is right up Trigger’s alley.

Delicious in Dungeon Trailer Reveals Release Date
While the anime’s story and eye-catching style from the trailer are interesting, eager viewers will need to wait a while, as this anime will air in Winter 2024.
Aside from its early 2024 premiere, the trailer also revealed members of the voice cast. And perhaps the most well-known among them right now is Sayaka Senbongi, who plays the elf, Marcille.
Senbongi is also the voice actress of Kiruko in the ongoing anime Heavenly Delusion, as well as Kikuri Hiroi in Bocchi the Rock! and Trish Una in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
Other members of the voice cast include Kentaro Kumagai (Theo Cornaro in Grancrest Senki) as Laios, Asuna Tomari (Shiden Iida in 86) as Chilchuck, and Hiroshi Naka (Garp in One Piece) as Senshi.
Delicious in Dungeon will premiere in January 2024, though there’s no word yet on which platform it will be streamed on outside Japan.
