The upcoming Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction two-part anime film recently announced its two lead stars, and they are two popular Japanese singers who are best known for performing hit anime songs.
These two are none other than Lilas Ikuta (aka Ikura) of YOASOBI, as well as ano. Their upcoming roles will serve as their anime lead debuts.
Along with the two, the upcoming film also features a star-studded supporting voice cast that’s filled with many familiar names.
Two Popular Japanese Singers Cast as Dededede Destruction Leads
Ikura is the singer of YOASOBI, the popular Japanese music duo that performed the hit song Idol, the Oshi no Ko opening theme.
YOASOBI also performed the song Hero for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, as well as the opening songs for Beastars Season 2 and Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 1.
Kadode Koyama in the Dededede movie is Ikura’s first lead anime role, though she has voice-acted before. Ikura’s voice acting debut was in Mamoru Hosoda’s 2021 movie, Belle.
Meanwhile, ano is a Japanese singer who will play the role of Ouran Nakagawa. Anime fans know her as the singer of Chu, Tayousei., the sixth ending song of Chainsaw Man.
She has also performed other anime songs such as the ending theme of Tiger and Bunny Season 2.

Ikura and ano Are Joined by a Stacked Voice Cast
Alongside Ikura and ano, the upcoming two-part film also features the following voice cast members:
- Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger in Spy x Family) as Kiho Kurihara
- Miyuri Shimabukuro (Kohakumiya in Vermeil in Gold) as Ai Demoto
- Saeko Ooki as Rin Hirama
- Azumi Waki (Nagisa Minase in Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as Futaba Takemoto
- Ryoko Shiraishi (Chouchou Akimichi in Boruto) as Makoto Tainuma
- Miyu Irino (Shouya Ishida in Haikyuu!!) as Keita Oba
- Koki Uchiyama (Izumi Miyamura in Horimiya) as Kenichi Kohiruimaki
- Taito Ban (Amane Fujiyama in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten) as Naoki Watarase
- Junichi Suwabe (Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Hiroshi Nakagawa
- Kenjiro Tsuda (Kishibe in Chainsaw Man) as Nobuo Koyama
Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction is a two-part film by Production +h. It is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Inio Asano, the popular mangaka behind the acclaimed Goodnight Punpun.
The first part of Dededede will be released in Japanese cinemas on March 22, 2024. Meanwhile, Part 2 will be released on April 19, 2024.
For now, there’s no word yet on international release plans for the films.
