Deadpool’s Rob Liefeld Calls Abrams Cut Movement for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 'Absurd'

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might have been one of the most highly anticipated releases this year, however, the film ended up becoming one of the most divisive films in the franchise. The third and final entry in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy has been suffering from mixed-negative reviews, with most critics lambasting the film for its rushed pace and for its poor storytelling techniques.

This week, new leaks have come out suggesting that Disney is the real villain to blame for The Rise of Skywalker's failings. According to these rumors, the Mickey Mouse House changed J.J. Abrams's cut of the movie, and that there is an "Abrams Cut" that exists that lasts for a good three hours of run time.

While most fans would eagerly take this sort of explanation seeing how terribly Episode IX has been doing, Rob Liefeld, the comic book creator behind Deadpool and many other comic book characters doesn't feel that way.

Instead, Liefeld calls the whole thing "absurd," telling his followers that it's downright ridiculous to think that Abrams was a victim.

"Speaking to the "J.J. Cut" - he is very powerful and has the richest producing deal in the entertainment business at WB. He was never, ever, without leverage. The idea that he is a victim is absurd," the comic book writer wrote on his post on Twitter.

Liefeld has an interesting take on the issue. While we would like to blame Disney for The Rise of Skywalker's failings, we can't really tell whether the "Abrams Cut" leak is true. We can't really trust whatever information comes up online.
