The Merc with a Mouth is set to make his grand arrival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Deadpool 3 and as some of you may have already guessed, Ryan Reynolds is not coming in alone. Aside from Wolverine, familiar faces from the franchise will be joining Wade Wilson on his MCU adventure.
Just recently, it was confirmed that Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams have been included in the threequel's stellar cast which was of course a no-brainer move. Fans are also expecting Morena Baccarin to reprise her role as Vanessa, Wilson's love interest since the first film but it appears that her MCU crossover could be in jeopardy ahead of the project's filming.
During an interview on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Baccarin revealed that Marvel Studios has reached out to her but they've yet to reach a deal. When asked about what fans can expect from the film, she said: "Yeah, what is up with 'Deadpool 3? That’s a really good question. I have to be very diplomatic about what I say here. I’d like to be in it. They have called me about being in it."
She added: "Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. It may or may not work out. I don’t know."
Although she plays an integral role in the franchise, Baccarin understands the magnitude of the next film given how it also marks Hugh Jackman's return as Logan. "I’d like to think so. I do think that this movie, since the acquirement of this Deadpool universe by Marvel/Disney… that merger that happened, I do feel like they’re trying to reinvent it a little bit. I think this movie is going to be much more about Wolverine and Deadpool…"

Of course, there's a good chance Baccarin is only keeping her involvement under wraps to avoid giving away potential spoilers. I mean, we all know how notorious the studio is for its level of secrecy.
Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 is currently slated for theatrical release on November 8, 2024.
