Deadpool Co-Creator Rob Liefeld Writes Open Letter Begging Hugh Jackman To Return For A Crossover

It looks like Ryan Reynolds isn't the only one hoping to drag Hugh Jackman's Wolverine into a crossover movie with 20^th Century Fox's Merc with a Mouth. Deadpool's comic book co-creator Rob Liefeld has just penned an open letter to the X-Men star asking for a movie featuring both Deadpool and Wolverine.

Taking to Instagram, Liefeld has just shared a lengthy and heartfelt post trying to ask Jackman to consider returning to the big screen as Logan to team up together with Reynold's Merc with a Mouth.

Earlier this week, Jackman told MTV that he didn't really want to have a crossover with Deadpool because he genuinely believed that no one really wanted a Deadpool movie with Wolverine in it. In the letter, Liefeld tries to convince the actor the exact opposite, reassuring the X-Men movie star that fans have been looking for a crossover between the two for the longest time.

The comic book writer even tries to recommend a few source material that could be used for the crossover like Wolverine #154-155.

Being in the comic business for 33 years and speaking as someone who has crafted a few memorable encounters between Logan and Wade, I can guarantee and confirm an audience and a reaction like nothing you have ever before experienced!! It's a pretty long letter, but then again it's going to take a lot to convince Jackman to return to the X-Men franchise again, even if it were for a Deadpool movie. Reynolds has tried time and time again to have Jackman put on his claws but to no avail. Guess we'll just have to wait.
