Deadpool Actor to Voice Spider-Man India in Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is expected to feature multiple versions of Spider-Man as the film will tackle the multiverse even further and Miles Morales will be meeting several variants as he goes along in his next heroic journey based on the trailers and previews that they released so far.

For the past several months, we've been hearing a lot of updates on the animated film, especially the casting of the new characters that will be introduced in the film. As we're now heading closer to its release, another significant casting news has emerged from the film.

According to One Take News, Deadpool star Karan Soni has been cast to voice Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The character is expected to have a significant role in the film. The casting was also confirmed by the major trades and the actor himself on Instagram

"Still can’t believe I get to be Spidey!!," he wrote in his caption. You can check the post here:

He is joining the ensemble that already includes Shamike Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, Greta Lee, and Luna Lauren Velez.

Similar to Peter Parker's origins, Pavitr Prabhakar is a kid from Mumbai, India who got his spider powers from an ancient yogi. He made his debut in the comics back in 2005 on his own issue and has become beloved by the fans.

Soni is no stranger to the Marvel universe as he previously played taxi driver Dopinder in the first two Deadpool films. It is unknown yet whether he will reprise the role in the upcoming third movie that is part of the MCU.

The film's synopsis reads: "After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most."
