Deadpool 2's Lewis Tan Talked With DC About Nightwing Movie

Fans were quite excited when Deadpool 2 actor Lewis Tan revealed that he would be meeting with DC about something. The man who portrayed Shatterstar didn't say much, though he did mention how his father worked on Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie and would love to go full circle by starring in something from DC, though he didn't mention any specific projects.

Thanks to an interview with The Hashtag Show, Tan essentially revealed that he did have talks with DC for a specific project; Nightwing. Director Chris McKay did mention an open casting for the role and Tan mentioned how McKay follows him on Twitter. Tan still played coy about this though and couldn't even mention a villain he would like to see in a solo Dick Grayson movie.

"I know Chris McKay wants a martial artist, right, so that's out there. He's following me on Twitter, you know…there's a lot of good juju vibes out there for that. Nothing that I can say that is confirmed. This is a project that he's still developing and I sat down with DC, with some of the executives at DC, and they're big fans, I'm a big fan, obviously. My father came to America, because of Batman (Tan's father worked on Tim Burton's 1989 film) and, you know, I definitely want to see that come full circle and give back. I'm not trading in my Marvel roots, because they started me, but DC started my dad, so it would be nice to go over there and play around and find the right thing. So we're looking for the right thing and there were a lot of different talks and Nightwing was one of those that were mentioned, so we'll see."

He does mention how McKay wants a martial artist, so it would be really cool if he got the role. Making Dick Grayson half-Asian would be pretty cool since there isn't a lot of Asian superheroes in cinema, whether it's Marvel or DC.

The comics have Amadeus Cho (Marvel), Silk (Marvel), the Ryan Choi version of Atom (DC), and more, so it's about time we saw some of them in live-action. If that won't be the case, it would be cool if Nightwing became part Asian.

No release date for the Nightwing movie has been revealed.
