Deadpool 2 Director Gives Update on X-Force Movie

Reviews are out and it looks like Deadpool 2 is a critical success. The sequel has been praised for feeling bigger and having much more violence, which has resulted in fans getting excited for its release later this week. Fans also can't wait to see the first live-action iteration of X-Force before they get their own film from Drew Goddard.

Deadpool 2 director David Leitch gave a small update on the X-Force film. While he didn't reveal anything new, the fact that he acknowledges that it's still being made is good to hear. Considering how well the latest Deadpool movie did, we shouldn't be too surprised to eventually see the X-Force movie.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg recently stated that the movie might not have the exact same roster from the Deadpool sequel, though popular members like Domino, Cable, and Deadpool will remain. We can only hope that Shatterstar remains, though we will have to wait and see the film to know that.

Now that Comcast is trying to interfere with Disney's Fox purchase, it will be interesting to see how plans for X-Force are affected. Hopefully, the film goes off without a hitch and we get to witness these characters share equal screen time.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18. No release date for X-Force has been revealed.
