I think most of us can agree that fans of the DC Universe, most especially the so-called "Snyder cultists" are some of the most passionate folks in all of geek culture. With Zack Snyder's brief time on the DCU held with such high regard, fans are now defending a character that first made his appearance in the SnyderVerse, none other than Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor.

On social media, Eisenberg's unorthodox version of Lex became a hot trending topic after one user asked fans what they really thought about his performance as the iconic Superman villain. The discussion comes hot on the heels of Robert Downey Jr. suddenly finding himself becoming a fan-cast candidate.

In case you didn't know, the MCU star recently unveiled his clean-shaven head, which obviously led to many becoming convinced that the Iron Man actor shares a striking resemblance to the owner of LexCorp. What do you think? Does Jesse deserve all the hate for his interpretation of Lex Luthor? Check out some of the reactions below:

Say what you will about Eisenberg's performance but it can't be denied that he tried his best to at least give fans a fresh take on the character. Now, whether or not it worked is still up for debate. I gotta say though, I hope the new DC Studios regime will give him another chance to play the character because I've always found his version quite intriguing. I guess only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League are both available to stream on HBO Max.
