There's no two ways about it — Joss Whedon's theatrical cut of Justice League was a colossal failure from top to bottom. A film that could have set the stage for the DC Universe to finally legitimize itself ended up becoming one of the worst, if not the worst comic book film in existence.

The theatrical cut was a far cry from Zack Snyder's original vision for the project and it would take fans four grueling years just to get the "real" one. Now that the film is celebrating its fifth year, DCU fans wasted no time lambasting the divisive project.

On Twitter, "Josstice League" became a hot trending topic, and even without looking at the reactions, you would already know that fans are ripping up the Hamadaverse "classic". Check out some of the tweets here:

I guess the silver lining of it all is that "Josstice League" technically paved the way for the release of the Snyder Cut to actually happen which is clearly a far superior film than what we initially ended up getting. As for the chances of Zack being brought back to the DCU, we still don't know what the future holds for him but fans are still incredibly hopeful that there's a place for him in the "new" DCU.

Now that the "dark ages" for the DC Universe are seemingly over, we're hoping that the duo of James Gunn and Peter Safran will build a more cohesive franchise that puts the fans first before anything else. I mean, it isn't hard to do when you have the best collection of characters the world of comic books has to offer.

Both versions of Justice League are (bafflingly) available to stream on HBO Max.
