DC's New Gods Movie Might Focus on Two Fan-Favorite Characters

Now that Aquaman has turned the tide (haha), fans are starting to become more optimistic about the DCEU's future. Shazam comes out later this year and fans are hoping that this continues the streak DC just started. One movie that doesn't have a release date yet but does have a ton of excitement behind it is New Gods, which is based on one of the best comics Jack Kirby ever created.

We Got This Covered has supposedly uncovered something new about the movie and it's going to get fans of last year's DC Comics excited. According to this rumor, the film will focus on two fan-favorites from this series; Mr. Miracle and Big Barda.

The plot will supposedly revolve around the couple as they try to escape from their homeworld of Apokalips. Darkseid will play a big role and the conflict between Apokolips and New Genesis will also be a huge focus.

Fans who read Tom King and Mitch Gerard's 12-issue Mister Miracle series know that focusing on these two characters can only lead to good things. New Gods fans love the romance these two have and seeing it in live-action would be very nice.

Director Ava DuVernay confirmed that the film was in "early development." Since then, however, the project has remained shrouded in mystery, with nothing concrete revealed yet. It seems like the film is still in early development but fans are willing to wait for a perfect adaptation.
