DC is Ending Harley Quinn This August

You'd think that DC would be happy with Harley Quinn right now after the animated series has gained plenty of attention. Add the cult following that Birds of Prey has managed to make and it's clear that there are a lot of people who love Harley so she isn't just a fad. While we'll still have an animated series and more future movies, comic book fans will be sad to know that the character's solo series will be ending this August with Harley Quinn #75.

Revealed by current Harley Quinn writer Sam Humphries, the writer revealed that the extra-large issue coming in August won't just be his last but the final one for this comic, at least for now. We all know that the character is too popular to not have an ongoing series to make money off, though it looks like DC is waiting for the right creative team to take over.

At last, it's the star-studded roast of Harley Quinn! Nothing is off-limits, no topic is out of bounds, and no one—and we mean no one!—will escape unscathed. Harley may be the funniest person in the DC Universe, but how well can she take a joke?
Plus, in a backup story illustrated by superstar artist Riley Rossmo tying into "The Joker War," Harley Quinn faces off against Punchline!

Considering the state of this world right now, it's hard to believe that comic book finales like these are happening right now. Humphries has had an interesting run on the series and it was one that wasn't afraid to experiment as the writer tried to do creative things like having Harley face off against The New Gods.
