It can't be denied that the comic book industry has been championing diversity and equality over the last couple of years and whether or not you think it's genuine and not just an attempt to pander to people, I'll leave that one up to you. This week, DC Comics delivered a bombshell when it was revealed that Earth's new Man of Steel has embraced his sexuality. In the latest issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El, Jon Kent, son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane has finally come out as bisexual.
The latest issue of the said comic will hit shelves on November 9th and it will revolve around the romance between Jon and his significant other Joe Nakamura, his college friend. So far, the folks over at DC have been pretty pleased with this new creative direction for the Man of Steel which according to them will give a whole new meaning to what the mighty Kryptonian stands for.
However, the reaction from the DC fandom has been mixed which doesn't come as a huge shocker, really. While many fans have been expressing their excitement over this new creative direction for one of comic book's most popular superheroes, there are also quite a lot of fans who are still on the fence about it. Some are even mocking DC's move and calling it political. Check out some of the reactions below:

Well, as long as DC's intentions are pure, I don't see anything wrong with Jon Kent getting to know his true self in the comics. And to the folks who are raising their eyebrows with this new chapter in Superman's book, all I can say is the times have changed and we should learn to embrace it with arms wide open.
The next issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El will be released on November 9, 2021.
