Reports are now circulating that James Gunn's Superman: Legacy is already in its casting stages, with three actors vying for the coveted role. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix star David Corenswet is among the contenders for the part along with two yet-to-be-named actors.

Most of you may not be familiar with Corenswet's body of work but the 29-year-old actor has long been on the fans' radar when it comes to potential casting choices.

In fact, apart from Jacob Elordi who reportedly didn't audition for the role, Corenswet is consistently a part of various fan campaigns since Henry Cavill's DC exit was announced late last year.

Although nothing official has been set in stone, DC diehards are already celebrating Corenswet's potential involvement in the film that will officially launch the new DC Universe.

To say that Corenswet would be the perfect casting choice is quite an understatement. Not only does he look the part and can act, but he's also only approaching his 30s which is a major plus, especially considering James Gunn and Peter Safran have made their intentions clear of wanting to build the franchise around a younger set of actors.

DC Studios' Superman: Legacy is currently eyeing a July 11, 2025 release date.
