James Gunn's addition to the DC Extended Universe was a true game-changer for the franchise which many believe was on the brink of destruction. So far, Gunn only has two DCEU projects under his belt but he's already turning heads and making quite the impression with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker becoming well-received by fans and critics alike which almost seems like a rare feat when it comes to the franchise.

Peacemaker is making waves in the streaming world, being hailed as the most in-demand series currently and even surpassing hit shows like The Witcher and The Book of Boba Fett. However, despite the HBO Max show's unprecedented triumph, some people aren't thrilled with how Gunn goes about his business.

Shockingly enough, the Guardians of the Galaxy director is facing accusations of nepotism because Jennifer Holland, whom he happens to date in real life plays a major character in the DCEU spinoff show. Holland portrays Emilia Harcourt in both The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, one of the agents tasked with Project Butterfly and Christopher Smith's apparent love interest in the show. It was also recently revealed that Harcourt is set to appear in Black Adam.

The ever-so-controversial filmmaker has yet to address the matter but in my opinion, there's no need for it. Most fans enjoy Jennifer's awesome portrayal of the uber feisty Emilia Harcourt and I honestly don't see any problem with her being part of the show or the DCEU in general despite her personal relationship with Gunn. It's her talent that brought her to where she is right now and not "connections".

Peacemaker is streaming on HBO Max.
