Following the massive success of the DC FanDome event held last month, WarnerMedia is now looking for ways to generate more buzz and effectively monetize the fans' support and enthusiasm for the virtual con.

With the industry taking a hit from the coronavirus pandemic, Warner Bros. had to find a way to generate more buzz. This saw the studio opt for a virtual comic convention this year instead of a traditional one.

In a recent interview with Variety, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group head Ann Sarnoff says the fans' enthusiasm had a huge impact on HBO Max, which is essentially the company's priority as of the moment. "After Fandome we saw viewership of our DC movies pop on HBO Max," she says. "We're using all our businesses to drive new businesses."

The DC FanDome event was so successful and massive that the studio split it into two parts at the last minute, with the second day set to take place in just a few days. The first part focused on DC's upcoming movies and video games, while the comics and TV shows are reserved for the second day.

How Warner Bros. plans to monetize the event's success and the fans' enthusiasm remains to be seen but it looks like the second day of the event will get more attention from WarnerMedia and AT&T.

DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse kicks off on September 12, with fans able to make their own schedule for the event.
