After months of speculation, DC Studios may have finally found Henry Cavill's Superman successor. Reports surfaced this weekend that three actors are vying for the chance to lead James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, including up-and-coming star David Corenswet.

While most of you may not be familiar with his body of work, DC fans have been keeping an eye on the rising actor. In fact, even before The Hollywood Reporter dropped the bombshell news, Corenswet was already a top candidate amongst DC diehards.

Not long after the report surfaced, fans began rejoicing on the internet, including Instagram artist @bobby_art who showed off his astonishing artwork depicting the 29-year-old as the Man of Tomorrow.

Instead of going the traditional route, the artist gave Corenswet a look reminiscent of the character's Fleischer Studios days. I must say, despite the old-school touch, this could actually work as a modern-day take on Supes. Check it out here:

Now, some fans argue that Corenswet's potential casting is too predictable and while that may be true, there's no discounting the fact that he looks the part. Sometimes, predictability is a good thing.

The actor is also only approaching his 30s which is a huge plus, especially considering Gunn and Safran want to build the DC Universe around younger stars who can carry the franchise for at least the next 10 years.

We'd like to assume that Gunn, who's been keeping tabs on social media was actually influenced by the fans' desire to see the Hollywood star as Clark Kent. Hopefully, he ends up getting the part.

DC Studios' Superman: Legacy is currently eyeing a July 11, 2025 release date.
