Dave Filoni Says Star Wars: The Clone Wars is about Ahsoka and Rex

Disney+ is currently airing the final season of The Clone Wars, and we've been getting these official updates called Clone Wars Download after the airing of every episode. With the latest episode covering Unfinished Business, series creator Dave Filoni talks about who he thinks are the central characters of the show—or at least, the final season.

Talking to Clone Wars Download, Filoni explains, "Each story arc in the last 12 episodes gives you an important piece of the end of the war; the clones' perspective, Ahsoka's perspective, and then the finale which brings both of those two together because, in the end, The Clone Wars to me is about Ahsoka and Rex."

Though Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan are central to the Star Wars story, a lot of people have considered Ahsoka and Rex to be two of the best characters to come out of the show. Rex gives us a more layered look at the clone troopers during the war, and Ahsoka is probably the closest we'll get to a ‘gray Jedi' in the canon.

Despite the Coronavirus Outbreak cancelling everything for the next few months, it looks like TV is managing to trudge along with no hiccups. Then again, people will be needing television more than ever, what with this rule to keep staying indoors. Hopefully Disney has enough content to release before they can start shooting shows safely again.
