Dave Bautista Mocks Disney for Not Re-Hiring James Gunn

After a massive online outcry and requests from the main cast, Disney has ultimately decided not to re-hire James Gunn to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Being one of Gunn's more vocal suporters, Dave Bautista (Drax) straight up mocks Disney on Twitter for going through with their decision.

If it wasn't clear yet, Bautista is mocking Disney with the ‘Make America Great Again' campaign slogan. It has been widely believed that Gunn was fired over a smear campaign by alleged Neo-Nazis, and by putting up the slogan, Bautista is indirectly accusing Disney of supporting the Alt-Right.

If there's any consolation, at least Guardians 3 will be making use of most of Gunn's script. The film is said to be due for one last rewrite after Disney and Marvel Studios find someone to helm the movie; surely whoever they pick might want to make certain changes for themself.

A lot of fans are still outraged over Disney's choice not to bring Gunn back onboard; but I'm curious if they know something we don't. After all, it was rumored that Marvel head Kevin Feige was on Gunn's side when all this news came out, but now reports are saying that he is also standing by Disney's decision to keep Gunn fired.

One thing's for sure—Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will now be forever tainted with the question, "What would it have been like if James Gunn directed it?"

It's pretty much the same boat with Ant-Man and Edgar Wright.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was slated for a 2020 release.
