The Marvel Netflix universe continues to grow, with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher doing considerably well. Considering Netflix's focus on Marvel's street heroes, fans have been curious about who will be next. If former Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight had his way, Moon Knight would have had a show already.
Speaking with ComicBook.com, DeKnight revealed his interest in the Moon Knight character aka Marc Spector. DeKnight feels that the character's split personality disorder has made him one of the most complex characters in Marvel since it immediately makes fans ask questions.
"That's a weird story actually. I never considered including Moon Knight in Daredevil. Somebody asked me on Twitter a while back if I would do Moon Knight and I've always been a huge Moon Knight fan and yeah, if I had the time in my schedule and the stars aligned, I'd love to do Moon Knight. I mean, I love the whole multiple personality. Is he crazy? Is he not crazy? Has he really gotten these mystical powers? Are they supernatural or is it all in his head? I think it would make for a very, very interesting Marvel universe kind of Netflix show. I also hope they'll expand and give him a shot sometime."
Moon Knight has had some of the more interesting comic book storylines in recent years, with creators like Warren Ellis, Brian Wood, and Jeff Lemire taking the character to new heights. It will be interesting to see if Netflix ever considers bringing the character to the Netflix-Marvel universe, especially if it leads to confrontations with Daredevil or The Punisher.
Daredevil's third season comes out sometime this year, detailing what happened to Matt Murdock at the end of The Defenders. Luke Cage season 2 is also coming out this year. Jessica Jones season 2 has been out for a while, so fans who haven't caught up yet should do so.
