Daredevil Season 3 Star Says [SPOILER] Was Meant To Survive

Daredevil has always had its share of unfortunate casualties. Interestingly, one character that made a difference in Season 3 was intended to survive their grisly fate.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In Daredevil Season 3, Ray Nadeem finds himself being manipulated by Wilson Fisk after allowing the criminal to leave prison and stay in home detention. The FBI agent decided to work with Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson so he could testify against Fisk while keeping his family safe. Unfortunately, Nadeem was murdered by Agent Poindexter.

It seemed like the only way to go for Nadeem. However, actor Jay Ali has revealed to ComicBook.com that showrunner Erik Oleson had other ideas for the character.

"So when he told me that [Nadeem would die], I was like, 'Okay, this is gonna be great. It's gonna be a great arc. And then I remember halfway through the season he came to me, and he was like, 'Look, we're thinking of not actually killing Ray.' But we had a discussion about it, and we were like, 'It's the right thing to do for the story, to do that.' So, yeah, we ended up [deciding] it was the right thing for Ray."

It's a horrible fate yet Nadeem's death made sense. His final video would be the only way he could ensure the safety of his wife and son. In addition to that, it also proved that Agent Poindexter was just plain crazy. We're glad Oleson decided to stick with their original plan with the character.

Daredevil Season 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
