Daredevil on Netflix: Marvel Has Enough Ideas for Several More Seasons

Daredevil season three is coming out soon and fans could not be more excited. The ending of The Defenders ensured that we would be getting an adaptation of Frank Miller's Born Again arc and a post-credit sequence at the end of Iron Fist season two showed us a different Daredevil who wants to abandon his Matt Murdock persona. It's all very intriguing and fans cannot wait to see it.

As for what the future holds, it's hard to say since the Netflix shows tend to have more freedom than an MCU movie. We now have a villainous Luke Cage, a powerless Iron Fist, and a possibly deranged Daredevil, so the sky's the limit for what can happen next. Unsurprisingly, Marvel has enough ideas for multiple Daredevil seasons, at least according to Jeph Loeb.

The Marvel TV Head and Batman: Hush writer revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that there are enough plans for Daredevil till season six. Maybe more. However, he admits that these ideas tend to get shuffled around since the stories also have to go through the showrunners and Netflix. Considering the twists and turns we've seen thus far, it's hard to predict what will happen next.

"We find the best showrunners that we can, whether it's Steve Lightfoot on Punisher or Erik on Daredevil, and we work together with them to craft the best story that we can... Does Marvel have an idea as to what Daredevil 4, 5, or 6 could be? Sure. But ultimately those things will be shifted and talked about by the two other important parties that are involved: the network -- Netflix -- and our showrunner. So we take it on a season-by-season basis, with a general idea as to where we want to be for all of our characters."

Considering how Matt Murdock has over 600 issues of comic books, there are a lot of stories to choose from. They've also gone through varying tones, like the grim, gritty run of Brian Michael Bendis or the more pulp-inspired stories from Ed Brubaker. Mark Waid was also able to make Daredevil's world a little bit brighter, but without forgetting where Matt has been and acknowledging the darkness that has plagued the character.

With Daredevil coming back to Netflix soon, it will be very interesting to see how the series changes things up. The Kingpin of Crime is coming back and Bullseye might also be coming to the series, so both of those prospects are very exciting.
