Daredevil Actor Charlie Cox Still Hoping For The Defenders Season 2

Promising to gather together Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jone's Iron Fist in a culminating mini-series, Marvel's The Defenders had its hype going through the roof before its release. Unfortunately, the mini-series tuckered out. Becoming Netflix's least-viewed Marvel series, the weak performance of Marvel's The Defenders left the series' future up in the air.

However, while Netflix hasn't said a peep about the possibility of producing another season of The Defenders, Charlie Cox still hopes that he'll get to see the rest of New York's heroes in the second season of the series.

Speaking in an interview with Metro UK, Cox opens up about his take on The Defenders. While the actor admits that the series wasn't everything that it could've been, saying that the series felt a little bit too slow for fans, Cox still hopes that The Defenders gets to see a second season.

"I would like to see it go again if that's something they wanted to do. I'd be well up for that. I think that'd be really fun. I would like to see a story that is more in keeping with the show's that we make, which is a little bit more grounded, a little more boots on the ground. I don't want to see us try and compete with the Avengers in terms of the scope. I'd like to see The Defenders in more of a crime drama that happens in Hell's Kitchen underground. That'd be fun."

A gritty and grounded series is something that fans would have wanted to see in the first season of The Defenders. We certainly hope that Marvel TV finally gets its game on if ever Netflix gives the series another chance and green lights a second season of The Defenders.

Daredevil season 3 hits Netflix October 19.
