With a release date set for August, Nickelodeon has already started marketing the film. We just got our first look at the poster, and now it's been revealed that Dora's sidekick Boots is actually voiced by… Danny Trejo?

Yep, the box office badass Danny Trejo has just revealed that he's voicing Dora's adorable monkey sidekick in the upcoming movie Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Here's his official announcement:

We don't know what Trejo will sound like as the character, but I have a feeling that they're going to minimize his voice for the film just like they did with Vin Diesel's Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Then again, it would be hilarious if Boots just talked with an unaltered Danny Trejo voice. Heck, let him talk like Machete while you're at it.

As far as other animals in the movie go, Benicio del Toro is voicing Swiper the Fox. No news on who else could be appearing from the original show like Benny the Bull or Isa the Iguana.

This is the main premise of the film:

"Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents nothing could prepare Dora (Moner) for the most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego, and a rag tag group of teens on an adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization."

Catch Dora and the Lost City of Gold when it hits theaters Aug. 2.
