Daniel Radcliffe has long been rumored for the role of Wolverine in the MCU and a lot of fans have supported the idea of the Harry Potter vet playing the iconic mutant once Hugh Jackman officially retires.

So far, there hasn't been any confirmation from either the actor or Marvel Studios' sides regarding the rumor that Radcliffe will potentially play Wolverine in the MCU.

At this point, it is unlikely that we will hear any casting news for the MCU version of Wolverine anytime soon since Jackman is set to reprise the role again in Deadpool 3 and will likely stay until Avengers: Secret Wars, which serves as the culmination of the Multiverse Saga.

Nevertheless, the rumor still continues to prevail and it doesn't help that a viral photo recently surfaced where Radcliffe is seen having a buff physical appearance which made fans speculate even further on his Wolverine casting.

Now, the actor has addressed the rumor once again and settled the debate surrounding his recent physical transformation.

In a recent lie detector test video that he did for Vanity Fair with his Broadway co-stars Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, Radcliffe was asked about the recent Wolverine rumor and the reason behind his buff look.

The Harry Potter actor denied the casting rumor once again and explained that he got buff for "no reason" as he just wanted to maintain healthy fitness.

"I got buff because I am obsessive, and I want to... You've seen my parents, they're like insane fitness people. So that's just been passed on. But no, no Wolverine. Flattered, but no," Radcliffe explained.

As the actor pointed out, his recent viral buff photo had nothing to do with his casting as Wolverine and it's one of the cases where fans may have overspeculated just because he had a more buff appearance than before.

It still doesn't mean that Radcliffe will not have an opportunity to play Wolverine in the future since it's still years away before Marvel Studios starts casting the role when they finally bring him to the MCU.

At the very least, the recent debate has been finally settled as we finally have the explanation for Radcliffe's recent physical transformation. While fans may have wanted it to be a sign that he was cast as Wolverine, for now, they should just temper their expectations and wait for official news in the near future.
