Cyberpunk: Edgerunners may not be getting a sequel anytime soon (if at all), but fans can still experience the series’ world with the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit tabletop RPG.
While a new tabletop add-on was revealed previously, publisher R. Talsorian Games shared more new details in its latest announcement, including its release date window and pricing details.
This mission promises to be a must-play for long-time players and an engaging introduction to the tabletop RPG.
Cyberpunk Goes Full Circle with Anime-Inspired Tabletop RPG
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was one of the biggest anime shows of 2022 thanks to its memorable characters, hard-hitting story, and excellent animation by Studio Trigger (of Kill la Kill and Delicious in Dungeon).
This anime is based on CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game, which itself is based on the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG by Mike Pondsmith, which was initially released back in 1988.
Thus, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit sees the series go full circle, with the anime finally making its way to the latest edition of Pondsmith’s RPG.
While this new Edgerunners tabletop game is based on the fourth edition aka Cyberpunk Red, its events are set around 2070, which is the decade when the anime takes place. For reference, Red is set in the year 2045.
Aside from a date change, the mission kit will also feature new characters and art inspired by the anime series.

Given the updated setting, this new tabletop release is not just an add-on for Cyberpunk Red. Instead, it will feature a new full-length mission alongside seven pre-made characters.
Of course, the highlight of this package is the new handbook, which features new lore inspired by the anime series.
As a bonus, it even features new character illustrations by Hiroyuki Imaishi, the director of Edgerunners and Gurren Lagann.
As this is a complete package, players don’t need existing Cyberpunk Red kits. Players who are new to the game can get started right away with the mission kit, as it’s designed to be a great entry point to the RPG.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit Tabletop RPG Release Date Window and Where to Buy
R. Talsorian Games revealed on its website that the mission kit has gone to print, and it is set to be released in mid to late June. It will also be available in both physical and digital versions.
As for its price, the kit has a price tag of 35 USD for both versions. It will be released on the publisher’s official store and partner retailers.
