Crater: One of the Most Anticipated Movies Is Finally Coming

One of the most anticipated releases of this year is Crater, and it will finally hit Disney+ today, May 12.

The original futuristic sci-fi movie will see a group of teens on a lunar mining colony, going on an epic adventure to explore a mysterious crater.

Crater has had a long way traveled before it finally comes to fruition. Though many executives liked the film’s script in 2015, it took another two years before 20th Century Fox finally picked it up.

Now that Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox, all eyes are on the release of Crater, which takes years to make, on Disney+.

Crater Storyline

The film follows the story of Caleb (Isaiah Russell-Bailey). He was raised in a lunar mining colony and would be permanently relocated to a faraway planet after his father’s (Scott Mescudi) death.

As he’s about to fulfill his dad’s last wish, he and his best friends, Dylan (Billy Barratt), Borney (Orson Hong), and Marcus (Thomas Boyce), along with the new arrival Addison (Mckenna Grace), will hijack a rover for one final adventure.

The group will go on a journey to explore the mysterious crater.

Crater Cast Members

As the film will mostly focus on the adventure of a group of friends, it’s only fitting to have a cast that can give justice to its characters and storylines.

That said, fans are about to see fresh faces that, despite being new, acquire great talents.

Crater will be led by the We Can Be Heroes star Russell-Bailey as Caleb, along with Ghostbusters: Afterlife’s Grace as Addison, Blinded by the Light’s Barrett as Dylan, Only Murders in the Building’s Hong as Borney, Neuroblast’s Boyce as Marcus, and Palmer’s Carson Minniear as Charlie.

Of course, the film will also feature adult actors, like Don’t Look Up’s Mescudi, famously known as the rapper and producer Kid Cudi, as Caleb’s father.

With an all-ensemble cast, a strong script, and great people behind the scenes, it’s no surprise how Crater became one of the most-awaited movie releases this year.
