Could Marvel Have Edited A Hero Out Of Avengers: Endgame’s Super Bowl Trailer?

Marvel dropped a new trailer for Avengers: Endgame during the NFL Super Bowl game between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots last weekend and since then fans have been busy meticulously dissecting footage in the TV spots.

With hawk-eye precision, fans have noticed a peculiar absence in a couple of shots in the trailer.

At the 00:15 mark of Endgame's Super Bowl TV spot, fans get to see Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson), Captain America (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), and War Machine (Don Cheadle) walking across an empty field. The shot might seem innocent enough, but the arrangement seems to feature a large gap between Bruce and Rhodey – one that could fit in another hero for the scene.

Then at the 00:26 mark where the Avengers are seen walking across a hanger at their headquarters, there's another gap between War Machine and whoever the Avenger is in front of him (it's pretty hard to tell given the fact that we're just looking at shadows across a sunset).

While these gaps might simply be placed for aesthetic reasons, a lot of fans couldn't help but wonder whether Marvel edited out an Avenger from the shots in the teaser. After all, the studio has done digital edits to their trailers before.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel gave Thor (Chris Hemsworth) both his eyes to avoid spoiling the fact that the Asgardian God of Thunder loses it in his fight with Hela (Cate Blanchett). In Avengers: Infinity War, a handful of Gems were edited out of the gauntlet to avoid spoiling how many Stones Thanos during that point in the film.

What do you think of these gaps? Do they look suspicious enough to you?
